Our member company 3DTechnology Ltd, along with their sister company MedScan3D, are ‘stepping up to the plate in the battle against Covid19’. Using innovative 3D printing technology, founders James Wall and Jacqui O’Connor are offering their services at a time when demand for certain medical equipment is at its highest. With 3D technology, much needed components for medical devices such as respirators can be produced. This technology has proved invaluable in Italy, as Covid19 takes its toll on the health system, and it is great that they are poised and ready to assist here in Ireland if the need arises.
As a new startup spin-out of 3D Technology Ltd., MedScan3D have seen their profile raised exponentially over the last month. At the beginning of March they featured in the business section of the Irish Times, discussing their concept and the market opportunities for their services to the health/medtech sector. 2 weeks later, amid the ever-evolving Covid-19 pandemic, they were reported on by Teresa Mannion and featured on RTE News.
