Tell us about your company/organisation?

Keltie is an award-winning firm of patent, trade mark and design attorneys, renowned for its innovative and principled approach to intellectual property (IP) management. Working globally across all technologies and in every commercial field, we blend local presence with world-class capabilities.

With offices in Galway, Dublin and the UK, our attorneys, paralegals and support teams are highly skilled, hugely experienced and above all, great to work with.

What does your company/organisation do?

We advise on all IP issues and protect creativity such as inventions, brands and designs. We particularly enjoy helping businesses to grow by attracting investment, and advising investors in businesses that seek to grow.

How long have you been in business?

Our firm was founded in 1988 and opened in Ireland in 2016.

What’s the company’s origin story?

Our founder David Keltie was a remarkable man who dreamt of ‘creating something amazing’; a professional firm in which talented people could enjoy doing great work for their clients. By growing into one of Europe’s leading IP firms, we’re proud to have made David’s dream came true.

How many people are working for you now?

Currently, seven of us are based permanently in Ireland among more than a hundred colleagues in our wider firm, many of whom spend time in Ireland too.

Describe the type of products/services you offer?

We deal with all forms of IP, handle patent, trade mark and design applications around the world, and manage IP rights through their full life cycle from searching through to renewal and enforcement.

What type of customers does your company have?

We work with multinationals, SMEs, individuals, investors, start-ups, spin-outs, academics, accountants and general law firms.

What would you describe as the main unique quality of your company?

Knowing what it’s like to grow a business, we love to travel with our clients on their journey to success.

Have there been any other particular landmarks in your company’s journey?

Among many landmarks on our journey from a start-up firm of five people to a multi-office business, opening in Galway in 2016 was a special highlight.

How would you describe your corporate culture?

What are the main corporate challenges you are facing at the moment?

Recruitment. Getting around Ireland to see clients in other locations.

What are your company/organisation’s future plans?

To develop our team in Ireland and to work with more great clients.
