PlanNet21 Wins Deloitte Best Managed Company Award

PlanNet21 is one of the 22 companies that joined Deloitte’s network of ‘Best Managed’ companies in Ireland this year. The 137 recognised companies have a total turnover of over €12bn. Companies are awarded the Best Managed status following a detailed qualification and judging process that takes into consideration the complete performance of the business including operational excellence, strategy, finance and human resourcing.

PlanNet21 is a technology solutions group that was founded in Galway in 1998. Currently, it employs over 100 people, with plans to increase headcount this year to 120. It is a 100 percent Irish owned and last year embarked on its first M&A strategy, successfully acquiring Agile Networks into the group.

Serving the needs of large public and private organisations around the world, the organisation is headquartered in Citywest, Dublin, with regional offices in Galway, Cork and Belfast; outlier offices in Inishbofin, Co. Galway, and Ring, Co. Wexford; and international offices in London, Nice and Silicon Valley.

Trust, talent, timing, tenacity, technology and good fortune were some of the ingredients that PlanNet21 founders had when they embarked on new careers in the start-up world of 1998, according to Denise Tormey, co-founder and president.

“It is great that the Deloitte best-managed companies’ programme promotes and recognises excellence in Irish and Northern Irish-owned and managed companies,” Tormey said. “It is the only awards scheme on the island of Ireland that considers a business’ performance from every perspective. By competing in this rigorous and independent process which evaluates the calibre of management abilities and practices, we are humbled to be a chosen winner.”
