News from May and Events in June

May has been a busy month at GTC and in the city with lots of events happening before the summer break. One of the exciting events we were part of in the last month was an inaugural trip to London promoting Galway as an EU base for business. Two of our companies recently won awards and we have some exciting sponsorship news. You might also have noticed we are rolling out a new layout for our newsletter.

More on these stories below and a rundown of what happened during May and what is coming up in June.

CENTRE NEWS & EVENTS

‘Why Galway’ Delegation to London

GTC joined Galway Chamber and Galway City Innovation District to organise an inaugural business delegation to London to promote Galway as an EU base for companies. 18 business delegates from Galway traveled to London where two events were held. The first event was a reception hosted by the Irish Ambassador to the UK. At this event, we celebrated all that Galway has to offer to businesses looking to establish an EU presence. The second event was hosted by Keltie in their wonderful offices in London, where along with the IDA, we promoted Galway to a UK audience.

During this visit, we launched a ‘Why Galway’ brochure and a video produced by Moose, who are based in GTC. You can read more about the event and listen to an interview with the team on the Connacht Tribune website

Computer & Communications Museum Sponsorship

GTC will be sponsoring the Computer & Communications Museum of Ireland which is based in The Insight Centre for Data and Analytics in NUIG. The museum is a fantastic resource telling the fascinating stories of key moments in the history of modern communications. Over the coming months, we will be installing a display of museum pieces in GTC, carrying out publicity and events which will include opportunities for GTC companies to hold events in the museum. Follow us on Twitter @GalwayTech for more updates or contact us [email protected] if you would like to know more.
