GTC March Community Newsletter

Latest news from the community in GTC

Spring appeared for a few days last week, we hope it will return again very soon and that all of our community had a good St. Patricks Day, despite the weather.

We have been busy over the last few weeks promoting the centre at various events, continuing on the centre improvement works and organising some upcoming events – more on all of this below:

Centre News:

Lighting Upgrade

By the end of March we will have completed the first phase in replacing lighting throughout the centre to low energy usage LED lights as part of our efforts to reduce our energy consumption. We would like to gauge interest from companies as to whether they would be interested in upgrading the lighting in their units. If this is of interest to you, please let us know by email to [email protected]

Fibre Upgrade

In 2008, GTC was the first enterprise to connect to the Galway MAN with our own dedicated fibre to the building, over the years we have upgraded our capacity to 300MB. In the next few days, we are further investing in this project, bringing our capacity to 1GB. We will be the first centre West of The Shannon to provide this level of connectivity and it shows our continued commitment to technology and the keeping ahead of the requirements of the digital enterprises that make up our community. We will be issuing further updates on this in the coming days….

Painting

We have completed the recent phase of painting, upgrading the corridors and areas beside O’Brien’s and the Kitchen, we plan to continue this program during the year.
