Promoting enterprise

In Ireland

Galway Technology Centre was established in 1994 to meet the needs of the emerging cluster of ICT companies in the Galway area at that time. Since then, it has housed many hundreds of innovative start-ups and developing companies and has acquired a reputation for the provision of flexible, high quality, serviced office space with a range of integrated technologies, facilities and services. The Centre provides a complete solution to entrepreneurs seeking a high quality environment in which to grow their enterprise from concept to commercialisation and beyond.

The Centre is supported by Galway Chamber, Enterprise Ireland, Local Enterprise Office and WestBIC

GTC is a member of the National Association of Community Enterprise Centers, The NACEC is a network of 120 community enterprise centres in the Republic of Ireland, formed in 2008.

Its primary role is to support and develop the interests of community enterprise centres on a nattional basis.

Halo Business Angels Network

HBAN is a joint initiative between Enterprise Ireland, InterTrade Ireland and the Irish Business and Innovation Centres and provides a nationwide business matching service to select companies. The Partnership is managed in the Border, Midland and Western Region by WestBIC.

WestBIC seeks to match private investors with pre-screened investment opportunities in start-up, early stage and developing businesses. Since 2008, they have worked in partnership with the Irish BICs and the Halo Business Angels Network (HBAN) to grow angel/private investment in the region. This activity provides private investors with access to ambitious early stage companies with growth potential, while at the same time helping businesses seeking funding to scale and grow and to get access to private investors with relevant business expertise.

This activity benefits investors, companies and professional advisors and is an essential part of the entrepreneurial business network for new and expanding innovative SMEs in the region.

We also offer alternative investment options to investors interested in getting involved in companies with growth potential.

We offer a nationwide business matching service with offices in Dublin, Waterford, Cork and Galway. Our role is to act as facilitators not investment advisors, and we recommend that both sides take professional advice before making any investment-related decisions.

The Halo Business Angels Network is managed by WestBIC as part of its ongoing support to start-up and developing enterprises.
